Stakes Maiden?

I have noticed that the stakes maiden races do not give you a stakes win. They also allow you to enter in other stakes maidens even after you have won one. Are they just stakes races in name only?

I think you're reading the term incorrectly. They aren't maiden stakes races, but instead horses that are stakes maidens, aka, never won a stakes. The race itself isn't a stakes race, but rather an added purse claimer that excludes any horse that has ever won a stakes race.
