  • Cheap Breeds up

Have put some breeds up for cheap on horses I like the potential of, but who aren't proven at this point.

    (S) Daddy Warbucks (5 breeds, 1500 per) - some solid bloodlines in the lineage

    (M) Rose Thorn (2 breeds, 3000 per) - Won $74k on the track herself, of the 3 offspring the minimum amount won by them is $24k, currently going at $2379 per race, $58703 per offspring.
    (M) Short Square (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Out of Short Round ( $174k on the track, Offspring tracking at $3053 per race), and Q Squared ( Offspring going at $4556 per race currently )
    (M) Smokin Tigress (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Out of Smokin Joey ( $104k on the track, Offspring $4177 per race ) and Tigress of War ( $143k in winnings, Offspring $2716 per race )
    (M) Winged Rose (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Out of Smell The Roses ( Offspring going at $4915 per race, including 22 Stakes wins ) and Winged Troll
    (M) Yoooo Adrain (2 breeds, 1000 per) - 4f specialist Create Mare. I know some folks like to breed with sprinters and introduce new bloodlines. Posted at cost

These are a few of the ones I'm interested to see what they offer up breeding wise. I'll never be a big enough operation to completely breed out my available stock season to season at this point so might as well see what I can do selling/swapping breeding wise.

    **UPDATE**

These went super fast. As of now there's only the 5x breeds to Daddy Warbucks, 1x breed to Rose Thorn and 1x breed to Smokin Tigress remaining. Thanks to those that tried them.

Since the last batch bred out pretty well, I'm going to list some more up cheap. Same deal, I like their potential but they are at this point unproven.

    (S) American Johnny (5 breeds, 1500 per) - Skipping Stones ( $348k on the track, Offspring $3658 per ) x War Path ( Offspring $2539 per race )

    (M) Chianti (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Rock My Trolley ( $131k winnings,$3666 per race offspring ) x Sheza Royal ( Offspring $5456/ race, $112k earnings/offspring ). Offspring comb. 27 Stakes wins
    (M) Crooked Track (2 breeds, 2000 per) - Joe Crook Brian ( Create Sire, Offspring $4936 per race, 20 stakes wins ) x Sheez On Track ($192k winnings, Offspring $3943 per race)
    (M) George The Cat (2 breeds, 1500 per) - General George Race ($174k winnings, Offspring $3321 per race) x Taylorshscolors ($74k on the track, Offspring $3079 per race)
    (M) Messianica (2 breeds, 1500 per) - War Story ( Offspring $3034 per race ) x Messianic Legacy ( $118k on the track, Offspring $3651 per race ) Access to Orb blood here! lol
    (M) She Walks The Walk (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Won $122k on the track, honest miler. My favourite horse I've owned! Sires Offspring at $4k per race, Mares at $3k per race
    (M) Taylorslowestroll (2 breeds, 1500 per) - I have quite a bit of TnT blood, this my pick for potential. Sire at $3766 offspring/race, Mare won $375k racing and offspring producing $3353 per race
    (M) Train To Win (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Khali Train ( Offspring $3654 per race ) x Uriel ( Offspring $3480 per race )
    (M) Varys Island (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Varys Vouch ( Offspring $4036 per race ) x Caribean Addy ( Won $157k, Offspring $4968 per race )
    (M) You All Are Crooks (2 breeds, 1500 per) - Joe Crook Brian ( Create Sire, Offspring $4936 per race, 20 stakes wins ) x Don't Leave Me Now ( Offspring $3739 per race )

I also have Free Ecko, a daughter to Ecko ( who's reputation precedes him ) x Sloppy Bucket ( Won $233k, long racing career. Offspring $3162 per race ) I'm lacking on the sire side, so I'd be interested in trading breeds to her for breeds to established sires in the new season. PM me if interested

Some of this second lot have been bred out too. She Walks The Walk and Taylorslowestroll are gone. 1 breed to Crooked Track taken.

Some of the offspring have been quality. Aragon of Virtue ( Trunoble Lodge ) which was bred to Winged Rose won the full field D Div today in fine style. Some others are being saved for shotguns in the new season. Get in quick, unlikely I'll be putting bulk breeds up cheap next season once I'm actually back for real and trying to win

Bred a couple to Taylorslowestroll, very good blood line produced some fast TT's

You have a good eye for these horses you claim for breeding. Great Job

        Thanks Jason

Have to agree with Greeko. The breeding lines are superb. I have bred thousands of horses over the years but yesterday's breed to Crooked Track has produced a colt with insane workout numbers, the best I have ever seen. 1:08.50 for 6f which I believe is a low as you can go with 120lbs for a 2yo but his numbers over all distances up to 11f are also the best I've seen. I've thrown him in an Open Alw. first up. His name is Explosive Missile.

Yeah I saw it, didn't know if Norm wanted to keep it under his hat or not heh

I went digging to see just how those times stack up, and there is a recently bred Colt that beats some of those works ( sub 1:08:50 @6f ) and that one has translated it to the track. I look forward to seeing if Explosive Missile does the same.

Nice thing for the rest of us is he is a 2 yo so will not factor into any of next season's 2 yo races.

                    Norm,

Not trying to "one-up" you, but Orbism also came out like gangbusters with his workouts. He is now 3 for 3, and the 1:08.46 is by far the best I ever bred.

Good luck with yours, as the numbers are nearly identical to this one! Crossing my Fingers you have your runner, and we start mapping out Triple Crown candidates in a future's pool LOL!

                          Remember though,

Both Norm and I MUST survive the age change, and a decent population of STAR horses trend "back to earth" for the next age change" in succession, and then back up again sometimes.

Further, probably aside from TnT and perhaps John, I am not certain anyone produces more bred horses than Norm and myself....so of the hundreds we breed, we get the occasional one like this.

Finally, I HAVE had NEARLY similar GELDINGS, but NEVER a colt like this, so I am praying EVERY DAY to survive the age change, because this is the closest thing to my OWN bloodline I can put my name on, which is really cool.

When I bought Triple M bloodlines, I culled through nearly 175 breeders and 175 horses, so I thought that my investment at first was "volume for the sake of volume". It turns out that Stallions and Broodmares like Netherlands, Varys Vouch, and many other have REALLY helped me to create a VIBRANT breeding shed.

Moral of the story, nearly EVERY owner who has taken a ringer on a large stable purchase has come out the better, with only a few exceptions. In retrospect, it was the best $xxxx I ever spent.

                          GL Norm and all,
