  • Who Wants To Be.. A Champion Breeder!

Hello folks and welcome to this seasons instalment of 'Who wants to be a Champion Breeder', I'm your host Aragon Stables. *crowd cheers*

Yes that's right it's Season 2 of Digital Downs favourite reality show where we take a bunch of raw, untried, potential-filled breeders and let the community loose on them in a quest to find out who has exactly what it takes to be a top notch breeder. Before we get underway, let's have a quick recap of Season 1 :

Chianti bred a few nice working horses for Runaway Stables but they found the competition a bit too tough at the top end. She Walks The Walk quietly produced a couple of solid breeds for Trunoble Lodge. The underutilised You All Are Crooks and Yoooo Adrian each had some success also. Taylorslowestroll gave birth to both Leave No Greek, and Digital Downs Classic Final winner Leave No Trace for Greeko Holdem before actually being sold to him. Winged Rose produced at an impressive $4972 per offspring race including Digital Downs Route Final winner Rose To The Occasion. But without a doubt, the cream of the crop, the star, THE champion breeder of Season 1 was Crooked Track. Fully bred out, her offspring have already produced $899k in winnings at $44k per offspring and $5288 per offspring race over 170 offspring starts. Just 3 of her offspring failed to cash a race, 9 managed to earn in excess of $20k, and 2 went on to earn over $200k each including multiple TCR winner, multiple Championship Qualifier winner and Horse of the Year candidate Explosive Missile, who's now also starting to pass along those strong genes, showing success as a breeder. Crooked Track really was a diamond in the rough and a deserving winner. *crowd cheers loudly at the sheer awesomeness of Season 1*

So without further ado... let's meet the new batch of competitors! We're going to shake things up a little this time, and instead of giving you a run down on some of their finer features, we're going to send you straight over to their bios... because everything is damn digital these days *crowd laughs appreciatively of hosts fine wit*

Check out their racing stats, their preferences and then delve back into their lineage. Can you spot this years Champion? Here's this seasons entrants :

    Amazon Beachgirl
    Chick Flick
    Do Or Done
    Flybot
    Merv Me
    Queen Elizabeth
    Tarynsmadmoose
    Malibu Moon
    Launch Time
    Temple Of Giza

And just to spice things up this season folks.... we're going to be adding a few Sires to the mix! *Ooohs and Aaahs from the crowd*

    Introducing :

    Meet Me At The Greek
    Phlebotomy
    Texas Bro

So there we have it, folks, there are our entrants for this season. But what does this all mean to YOU, the community?

Each of these breeders has been posted on the public breeding page, for a price of $3k. Each has a breed limit of 5. Simply breed to one of them and you could be on the way to not only a fine racehorse for yourself, accessing never before available blood at a very reasonable price, but you could just be discovering the next Crooked Track.

    BUT WAIT... THAT'S NOT ALL!!

Breed to one of these contestants, and race your horse for the month of February. At the end of the month, whichever offspring of this crop has the highest race winnings will win a prize. And what is that prize you ask?... You get to keep the breeder that produced the runner! That's right! Not only can you get a fine racehorse, from untried blood at a reasonable price, as well as being a part of the search for this season's Champion Breeder, you can win THAT Champion Breeder lock, stock and barrel! Apart from all the racing success Crooked Track bred, she also earned over $80k in public breed fees... and that could be yours! *crowd cheers deliriously*

So what will you do? Will you attempt to peel off the ever popular first breeds? Will you wait to pounce on something that shows promise? If you strike it lucky, will you buy up the remaining breeds to corner the market? Only time will tell! The breeds will be up for the full month of February, but get in early for your best chance to win!

    And so...

*camera closeup of dashingly handsome host*

    GO!

    *Breaking News*

Station boss Lone Star Stables has kindly added an additional bonus. $25k to the winner of the contest, and $25k Bonus Credits to the runner who wins the second most prizemoney in the month of February! What a coup! And just confirming, you can breed as many times as you like to these guys, up to the 5 breed per entrant limit in the month of Feb. More runners, more chances, more fun!

              Let's check in here.

So far 3 of the offspring have raced. The Do Do cashed a maiden claimer, Merv The Giggler has run 2nd in a maiden and current leader Ribo Vibe won a maiden first time out.

Not much competition to these guys so far. Looks like an easy $50k in prizes for the stables that have jumped on, With the breed codes currently being offered it seems a good chance to use up one of these contestants, jump into the added money race and put yourself out in front of this contest too. And a reminder you can breed more than 1 time over the month of Feb up to the 5 breed limit total on each breeder.

              Good luck!

                Apologies.

I have been incredibly busy over the last month or so, and I let this one fall by the wayside.

I'll do a final tally up of winnings, excluding anything that was won in March and post up the final results tonight.

                  Amazonian Princess ( Amazon Beachgirl ) - Trunoble Lodge - $6885
The Do Do ( Do Or Done) - Second To None - $1650
                  Ribo Vibe ( Flybot ) - Orb Farms - $15630
                  Merv The Giggler ( Merv Me ) - Trunoble Lodge - $7391
                  Holy Temple ( Temple Of Giza ) - Trunoble Lodge - $5513

That's the final results, adjusted to take out a bit of winnings for March. Congratulations to Orb Farms, and Trunoble Lodge. I've put the mare up for you Orb,

Disappointed with the offspring this crop put out, and the participation. Apologies to Lone who generously put up some additional prizes without seeing a return on it. We didn't get the early monster breeds to pick up the excitement. Will there be a Season 3? Unlikely at this stage but you never know.

                  Good luck on the track.
