I think AMRS has the best idea of them all, if I understand him correctly, along with my feedback....... The first 2 weeks of the season, we can somehow "deem them' yearlings", with only 3yr old up races geared toward the Triple Crown, Oaks, and on down.....Then, on September 14th they "turn 2", and 2 year old season begins. How you do this from an IT perspective would just be window dressing, but we could make the window to buy these "2 year old-yearlings from 09/01 thru 09/14" would be up to you and your IT guys....Without addressing the race engine, workout engine, or race card....UNDERNEATH, they would be 2 year olds, but just called yearlings for x # of weeks either before, shortly after, or both as the season changes.

We gotta have yearlings.....but not voting either way.

To Burky's point, tempering expectations is to say "Any horse can win any race" because the workout code has ZERO to do with the Race code. Thus, we should tell ALL new stables that Superstar workouts are only a VERY MINOR hint that a horse MIGHT be decent to great, to nothing at all. I remember my first superstar workout set of 8-10 horses......2 or 3 panneed out and had decent careers. BUT, initially, I thought EVERY one of them running 1:35.50 or 1.08.69 were the next champ. Now I have horse running TWICE faster than those numbers who routinely do not win races. I keep plugging away though, and it seems like late-bred 2 year olds have ALWAYS been good to me!!!

      [EDITING for Accuracy]
As far as horseshoes, my extensive record-keeping shows that they have succeeded in slowing gate speed - Take a look at Gate speed on most horses. In fact, When I throw on horseshoes, My first fraction gets Slower on many occasions . They have Slowed many sprinters down, even when I breed a 5F horse to a 6F specialist, I am getting 22.39, 22.41 fractions....I guess this might be why we see the return of a few "Super-Creates", spread among 2 year olds, 3 year olds, and breeders. BUT, the SPEED aspect was sort of CRAZY for a while there, so in the LONG run, Lone might be a Visionary - This could turn out to be a VERY good thing!

Good luck, All just feedback from my perspective.....Horseshoes give me an extra .03 to .15 seconds better time, and usually (nut not always) a slower gate speed, But, the process is early, and I am still open-minded, after culling out about 20 who couldn't win after Burky's process of MSW--> MCL-->$12k-->$6k--$3k--$1k claimers.... You all know, because you all currently own the horses!

      Best,
      Orb

Slow down there G, I can read just fine and seen you write in 2 post say IMO and JMO several times then wrote: I decided not to give mine.

I found this quit funny, and teased you about it thinking it was you that had to many beers like you have been guilty of before. you bounce around this site making jokes and picking on other players like Greeko, but when someone gives it back you have a sh/t fit. You also like to talk about me and the other place but have no Idea what my standings are there. Iv'e never been ban there and still a member to this day. So go dig up some more bullsh/t to spread. Your a wantabe important guy but just a friggin joke to me.
My post was only in fun like 90% of yours are. So BOOOOOO YAHHHHHHHHH to you if you took it wrong.

You pretty much have it right Orb except I would just make the early season breeding be 2yo just like it would be now. No new programming would be necessary. No yearlings that then turn 2. Just eliminate yearlings all together. I think that void in breeding would be picked up by the early 2yo breeding.

Well i wish someone will settle this right now because i am getting sick and tired of the constant negative posts both about other players and perceived flaws in the game just because it doesn't perfectly suit what you want.
The minority of stables that constantly DEMAND change when something is not how they particularly want it are putting unnecessary pressure on admin and overall reducing the pleasure that this game provides
It seems that some stables keep beating the same old drum constantly whenever they get a chance or the subject is even remotely linked.
I was hoping that by increasing my stable and having a serious crack at a top 2 finish (something i have never done) that my interest would be sustained through all of this but sadly not.
The more the game turns away from real life and turns into arcade/instant gratification type of game the less interested i am becoming.
Feel free to troll the forums and COPY AND PASTE any negative posts i have done in the past. there will be 1 or 2

All Right guys, Cooler heads prevail, and we all win. If you two wanna duke it out, set up a Match Race, and I will throw in $20k to the winner. WFA, 2,3,4 yr & up colts & Fillies, 1 mile, Cal Turf, Sunday Last race.

Admin, please deduct $20k from my account if Hamilton and Burr agree to the duel, EXCEPT, to make it interesting:

$1k entry, and you each enter THREE horses.

this 6-horse field should make things interesting!

Are you two down to settle this on the grass in California?
