Why is the BC golden shoe G1 race for fillies and colts when fillies cant run in the BC G1 classic juvenile final?

  • #2
He may have intended for that race to count towards juvenile open instead of the classic which you are correct about 2yo colts only. Easily fixed if that was the case if not will let him explain.

I believe The Golden Shoe G1 is and was intended to be a stakes graded race and not a BC points race. I actually don't even see where BC is associated with this race except for a link on the classic series standings. To clarify...the Golden Shoe G1 is not a BC race. After the the results are in the race will be updated as a stakes race and the winner a stakes win. Sorry for any confusion!

          Hi Greeko,

This race is one of the last races that was created before the new restrictions were put into place and that is why there is no "stakes" tag on the race. It's an open race!

The Golden Shoe G1 is going of tonight for $460 which I believe is a higher purse than all of the DD Champ Races last season. However I didnt really check that...just a gut feeling. I think you can why the expansion of the race card is important.

Thank you to all who have taken the chance and I look forward to a good race!

I was going to enter one,but as I see first time starters are in the race as per Bob's explanation above,I am glad I gave it a miss, still a great purse to be had for someone.
