  • Unraced horses in stakes races

just a reminder that unraced horses are not permitted in stakes races. The system should catch this but we make errors on setting up races. You all know I do often.. No one's fault but wanted to remind everyone that if it happens to allow like it did tonight when a race was not set as a stakes race then your horse will most likely be scratched. Again no ones fault and I do apologize again to the two stables who were scratched.

why are un raced horses not permitted to race for stakes! comanche doesnt understand this!! if the field is not full then it should be allowed! bryan these type of restrictions dont seem right to me! for instance, if i want to make a create or breed , its my $$ to wager! first time starters run in stakes all the time!! if i dont make the wrong jockey instructions the other night i win going away in a maiden shotgun with The White Comanche! blind start! i pushed, should have gone with steady! to me thats half the fun! finding if you got a good one against good competion with meters at 100 across! now well over half the time that horse is gonna be a Crow, but sometimes it works!! kinda like first time lasix on a real horse! i dont tip my hand when i play poker, why should i have to in this case! this is one of dd,s rules that i think should change!! i have more thoughts on this subject, but i will hold off for now!! The rule came about because an unraced horse due to programming issues has an advantage. In short stables were breeding fresh horses to run in big money races so it was corrected by restricting stakes races. I dont know the extent or much of the programming issue but assume that to fix is either impossible or would create issues that are worse than what would be fixed. Hope this explains a bit of your concern but basically imagine you had a championship caliber horse that should win a lot of races then ebery stakes race it runs into an unraced horse thst wins then falls off and never performs but each race theres a fresh horse that wins again. Would be frustrating so changes were made.

i beg to differ! that is what real horse racing is truly about!! what you said about the big horse!! 2nd and 3rd pay also!! plus fresh horses generate more $$ for the game!! bryan its kinda like the triple crown!! win the derby, but fresh horses will be coming at you in the preakness and the belmont!! does the derby winner duck them?? no! he just has to be the best each race! or no triple!! 1 thought would be wide open stakes and restricted stakes!! Wide Open should pay out more though!! The White Comanche

I don't believe first time starters are in the Preakness and Belmont so that argument can end right there. Additionally the restriction was put in place so that horses must run at least one race to participate in graded races etc...again similar to real life racing. I don't see many unraced horses jumping into the Florida Derby. Put some skin into the game!
