New Team Competition

Over the next few weeks we will be planning the next team competition.
Details will be finalized once there's an idea of how many people will participate.

To get things started I'd like to begin with 4 team captains.

These spots will go to the top stables in the standings who want to be captains.The captains will then hold a draft in reverse order of standings so 4th place will go first each round.


Instead of overall wins like the last contest there will be special races specifically for this competition.

Roughly I'm thinking 3-4 days about 4 races each night.
Each stable will have to enter a certain number of races and only that number maybe 2 but we will see.

You can ship a horse to a team mate if they need one to run. But it will be up to the team to decide who runs in what race.

Races will be a random mix of classes and distances.

That's roughly where we stand.

So post here if you want to participate and if you are in the say top 8 in standings also add whether or not you would be a team captain.

Will update further when we have an idea of who wants to participate.

As an aside to this, and possibly building on it, I'd love to see a similar competition themed as a 'Battle of the Nations'. I know we could get a team from the US, Canada & Australia. Management would know if there's a big enough concentration of stables from another country, or possibly a 'Best of the Rest' as the 4th team. Could be an interesting marketing angle down the line if the competition is fun enough.

Also I'd be keen to compete in the team competition from Brians post, obviously once more details are available

The first time this was ever done that was how the teams were picked. Think there were 3 U.S teams and Team World. ..We could always go that way now. Especially with all the canadians and aussies we have. I'm up for anything.

Sorry I was so vague guys.

Let's say we end up with 4 teams of 4 stables.

Then there will be 8 races over a few days. Each stable will have to run 2 races. There would probalby be a stakes caliber race. and allowance a mid to upper level claimer and probably something like a 6k starter allowance. This will get all stable sizes something to run. Points based on finish in the race 4,3,2,1 Team with the most points will win.

As far as prizes Im hesitant to say anything right now until we see about participation. The more we get the more I will be able to convince Lone to open up his purse strings.
