TR – My, doesn't time fly by quickly? It appears just like yesterday that “The Preview Eliminator Races” were run but another season has come & gone & here we are again in S16. Doesn’t time go by quickly when having fun? And fun at DigitalDowns.us it certainly is, fun due to the fact of an Elite Game of Elite players!
“The Preview Eliminator Races” run on 7f dirt Bel & founded by Falcon Oaks in season 8 (S8) with the First Preview Eliminator Races kicking off in S9 for two-year-old first year racing horses has become a seasonal stepping stone here at DigitalDowns.us that definitely deserves a standing ovation. Time & effort of organizing these races by Falcon Oaks along with Landon’s Racers being the official score recorder for the eliminator picking contest.
What is the eliminator picking contest? The eliminator picking contest is individual stables submitting their selections for which horse they think will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd for the colt division & filly division as each division is run. Points are awarded & individual stables offer a FREE breeding to one of their stallions or mares, which is a very good opportunity & chance for participating members to pick up a decent pedigree in their stable.
For “TPER” individual stables hope & even possibly pray that they will succeed of being able to breed the next champion. Hoping & praying that one of their home bred colts or fillies would have exceptional traits bred into them to succeed to the final round. That of a colt or filly making it to the final round and collecting an enormous payout.
Not only collecting an enormous payout but a breeder being able to take pride in their efforts of having matched up a sire & dam of producing a “TPER” Finalist. Sound exciting, you bet it is… stables that have been entering horses into these seasonal specialty races continue to look forward to the next season for “TPER”.
Could one class “The Preview Eliminator Races” by Falcon Oaks & the “Seasons End Stakes” by Bald Farm Inc. as the Highlights for Specialty Races at DigitalDowns.us? Definitely!!

TR –TOP Trainer? Who qualifies to be a TOP Trainer? How does Administration determine who the TOP Trainer is? Possibly a good question?
Selection by Administration for TOP Trainer at DD is actually a fairly simple task. Simple Task? DD maintains all sorts of variable records at DD. Records which are viewable & easily accessible to the public at any time.
Records for, # of races run, # of wins (1st), # of places (2nd), & shows (3rd). From stable earnings to horse earnings to track records set by individual horses at/for various stables around the world. Records for TOP 10 Trainers Current Season along with earnings for the TOP 25 Trainers Lifetime Races & Money Won. From individual jockey records to individual horse records for progeny wins & earnings.
Wow, that is a lot a variable records! Records that have Key information for individuals playing the game which is an asset for ALL players. DD attempts to make the game as near to Virtual Reality as possible, but wait, one can easily say "Virtual Reality". One can be certain that Veteran Members & New Members would have to agree.
Viewing races in 3D at DD with the option of being able to select variable angles when the race is being run to being able to re-view in slow motion doesn’t get any better. The graphics & game overall are definitely rated as # 1.
Every new season continues to be the phenomenon of compelling competition as the list of Membership continues to increase. The application of strategic maneuvers would be the required essence on a daily basis to outwit the rivalry.
What sort of strategic maneuvers are required? From breeding selection to equipment & jockey selection to instruction. From a horse’s preferred distance such as ground type & type of class to does the horse qualify as low/mid/high claimer, conditional allowance or open allowance or specialty race or stakes race. Which will it be?
So, how does Administration arrive at deciding who the seasonal TOP Trainer is? Selection for TOP Trainer is a simple & straight forward decision.
As in the real life of horse racing, the TOP trainer for the year is selected by the number of wins a stable manages to accomplish in a fiscal year. Should there be a tie between two stables or three or more, then the TOP Trainer is selected by seasonal percentage wins.
As in the Simulated life of horse racing at DD, the TOP trainer for the year is selected by the number of wins a stable manages to accomplish in a fiscal year. A DD fiscal year is 4 months, therefore, horses age 3 years in 12 calendar months.
A stable manager(s) capable of accomplishing the majority of the required strategic maneuvers & outwitting the rivalry, will be the stable succeeding to the plateau for the golden “TOP Trainer Award”.

The Preview Eliminator V races for S13 were first run on May 1/09. Enthusiasm & excitement for this prestigious seasonal event is a phenomenon that continues to go unnoticed. A prestigious seasonal event unnoticed by members from around the globe for both long term & short term members/players.
Credit for these seasonal Preview Eliminator races would have to go to Falcon Oaks for his resourcefulness of such a prestigious event. The event was discussed in the forums in S8 among members & was graciously instated by Administration as a seasonal series of races. The first Preview Eliminator race was run on Jan 4/08 S9.
Who was Federico Tesio? According to research he will undoubtedly be remembered as the greatest Thoroughbred breeder of the 20th century. Without the advantage of having a computer Federico Tesio bred thoroughbred horses. He viewed pedigrees manually matching a breeding of sire & mare on paper without the aid of today’s modern technology. Federico Tesio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
