» Tracksider Mile WON by Philly Sweet & Silver Plan Published 06/14/2010

TR –
How sweet planning it is! June 12/10 S16 wasn’t only an entertaining day for the DigitalDowns group get together at Churchill Downs Kentucky but it was also an entertaining day for Jhorse Racing. Jhorse Racing signed up as a Forum member on Feb 1/2010 S15.

With a field of 12 entries for the Tracksider Mile 2yo Colts & an 8,000k entry fee, total purse money for two-year-old colts was 125,200k. 50% of the total purse money for the Win was equivalent to 62,600k. One would have to say that’s a decent chunk of coin for a Win making it a nice amount of coin to go home with.

Philly Sweet was bred & owned by Jhorse Racing & was the Only created horse entered in this race in the colt & filly division. Stats indicate that created horses can & will compete at the track among horses with generations of breeding. With jockey Lopez DJ selected to ride out of gate 10, it appears that Jhorse Racing made the correct choice of instructions & accessories.

Maui Jim bred & owned by Socal Racing with jockey Talamo J selected out of gate 5 came in .12 one-hundredths of a second behind Philly Sweet. Socal Racing collected 25% of the total purse money taking home 21,300k.

Pure Country bred & owned by Racing Downs with jockey Krutz J selected out of gate 10 came in third. Racing Downs collected 25% of the total purse money taking home 31,300k.

25,040k.

Adolph Rupp bred & owned by Bald Farm Inc. with jockey Smith J selected out of gate 11 came in fourth. Bald Farm Inc. collected 5% of the total purse money taking home 6,260k.

Tracksider Mile 2yo Fillies

With a field of 12 entries & and an 8,000k entry fee, total purse money for two-year-old fillies was 110,800k. 50% of the total purse money for the Win was equivalent to 55,400k. One would have to say that’s still a decent chunk of coin for a Win making it a nice amount of coin to go home with.

Silver Plan bred & owned by Top Stable selected jockey Lopez DJ to ride out of gate 12, was the Winner with Top Stable taking home 55,400k. One would have to assume that Top Stable also made the correct choice of instructions & accessories for a horse that continues to do well.

Lifetime starts: 5/4/1/0 Win 80% Place 20% Show Na  ITM 100%.

Jules Joy bred & owned by Socal Racing with jockey Trujillo E selected out of gate 2 came in .12 one-hundredths of a second behind Silver Plan. Socal Racing collected 25% of the total purse money taking home 27,700k.

Man Can She Dance bred & owned by Faraway Farms with jockey Oneto C Jr selected out of gate 4 came in third. Racing Downs collected 25% of the total purse money taking home 22,160k.

BB Swing bred & owned by Cybertooth with jockey Smith J selected out of gate 7 came in fourth. Cybertooth collected 5% of the total purse money taking home 5,540k.

Congratulations to the Winners & the runners-up! Well done!

» Hunter’s Jacquette Published 06/13/2010
TR – Is the simulated horse Hunter’s Jacquette comparable to Rachel Alexandra a four legged warm blooded animal that runs with heart? Apparently Hunter’s Jacquette isn’t capable of running with a real life pumping organ but is a simulated digital enhanced horse that possibly runs with heart.

So who is Hunter’s Jacquette? A French bred hunting horse, a horse named after a famous female French hunter or a horse name chosen because of the father’s & mother’s name or past names in general?

The current three-year-old thorough-bred filly was born on Feb 17, 2010 S15. The filly was bred & born at the Getting Lucky Lodge stable in Alice Springs, Australia, at the duel managed stable of Nigel & Norm.

Three days after her first work out, the bred as a two-year-old filly ran her First lifetime race in the 6f Bel Super Star Sprint out of gate two. The field consisted of four horses & with Smith J selected as jockey for Hunter’s Jacquette, the filly came in fourth.

The other three horses competing already had 7, 8, & 11 previous lifetime starts. She Fly Deb (Faraway Farms) had 7 LtS (Lifetime Starts) with 1 SS (Super Star) race to her credit. Nashville Pearl (Racing Downs) had 8 LtS with 1 SS race to her credit. Speedy Gm  (Aardvark Stables) had 11 LtS with no previous SS races to her credit.

As of to date, the filly has run 23 races in her career. The filly has run 4 SS races & one Specialty race being in the money only once out of the four. The filly Won her 1st SS race on 20Feb10-8 BEL
with Oneto C Jr selected as jockey.

Oneto C Jr has ridden Hunter’s Jacquette in her last five LtS & has successfully managed to Win ALL 5 starts. Oneto C Jr has ridden HJ a total of eight times out of the 23 starts & has been First across the finish line in six out of eight giving him a strike rate of 75% as HJ’s jockey.

Hunter’s Jacquette appears to be a top notch contender in the Open Allowance races with her training by the Getting Lucky Lodge Stable. HJ may not be in the Top Ten - Money Won but she certainly is in the Top Ten - Races Won & is in the #1 position for the season at 8/6/0/1.

The classy filly is a fourth generation on the Top Line (Sires pedigree) of the Sire’s line & an eighth generation on the Bottom Line (Dams pedigree) of the Dam’s line.

The classy filly was sired by Jack Sprat. JS was currently owned by Bald Farm Inc. & is game retired. The stallion has bred the allotted fifty foal quota & is a son of #1 member nominated Hall of FAME Stallion Jumpin Jack Flash. Lifetime starts: 50/22/12/3 Win 44% Place 24% Show 6% ITM 74%. JJF is also in the #1 position Lifetime Sire List - Ranked by Earnings per Race.

(Offspring)
1529/400/284/230 - Win 26.16% Place 18.57% Show 15.04% ITM 59.77%. Total $ Earned 9436150, Average $ per Offspring 188723.00, Average  per Race 6171.45. The Dam is Meifish Hunter , an interesting Bottom Line beyond the Dam with some reputable breeding in this pedigree as for the Top Line also.

And now we know the rest... of the story, of how Hunter’s Jacquette was given her name.

Keep up the good work Gents!

» Hook Shot Strikes Twice for Johnny Published 06/9/2010

Hook Shot C3
Created

TR – Well I’d be a monkey’s Uncle! It certainly isn’t a strike as in a physical punch but a punching strike indeed at the track by Hook Shot C3 for Johnny. I suppose the saying, “good things come in small packages” & whether big or small, a good package for Johnny it certainly is.

It appears that the purchased package of Hook Shot a created horse by breeder Johnny is a package that he wouldn’t be too eager to part with, at least not at the moment anyway. I suppose if one were to remove the letters 0 & K & add T & use the letters O & K, Hook Shot is now, Ok Hot Shot, & why not.

Twenty-five days later a second track record by the stable has been surpassed for S16. It isn’t the twenty-five days later as much as it is that it is another New track record by the same horse & breeder, Johnny. One-hundred-thirty-three days later after signing up as Forum member, the smiling player has recorded THEIR Second Track Record in S16, making it the third record set in S16.

Johnny’s First track record was 108 days after signing up as a Forum member. Johnny has every reason under the sun to be smiling & dancing, with the possibility of even more aggressive irregular movements with his Second achievement by Hook Shot C3 at the track.

Hook Shot beat the First track record set in S16 by Shy Myth & owned by Grand Prix Stable by .02 one-hundredths of a second with Gomez G selected as jockey for six consecutive rides.

» "Starter Races Point Series" Latest Specialty Addition at DD Published 06/7/2010

TR – Specialty Races hosted by individual players at DigitalDowns continues to roll out of the wood work. DigitalDowns will be implementing another series of Specialty races to the current collection of hosted Specialty races by members which will total three.

The First hosted Specialty seasonal races, The Preview Eliminator Races founded in S8 & kicking off at the start of S9 was founded by player Falcon Oaks. TPER is rated #1 & is a series of races that are ONLY for two-year-old colts & fillies. Horses are bred as one-year-olds by stables from around the world in hopes of having a horse that will be competitive enough to make it to the Final round of the series.

To make it to the Final round, horses need to be within the Top conditional requirements of finishing in Series One & Series Two. The possibly of members viewing the races with fingers crossed in hopes of being a Winner would be a gesture that many wouldn’t admit to. Members desiring to be the Winner of collecting a decent amount of coin & of course, an individual or stable being able to be proud of having accomplished a Win for the #1 Prestigious Event.

Doug of Landon’s Racers is the official score recorder for the Eliminator picking contest. What is the Eliminator picking contest? Playing members have an opportunity to forward their selections for which horse they assume will be first, second & third as each race is run. The stable with the most points at the conclusion of the series may be offered a Free breed to a stallion or mare by a stable.

Season's End Stakes II is the Second Specialty Races implemented at DD & was founded in S14 by Bald Farm Inc. & kicked off in S14. This was the first of this hosted Specialty series of seasonal races founded by Bald Farm Inc. Current season, S16 will be the third season that these races are run. This is the Second implemented Event of Prestigious Specialty seasonal races which can also be ranked as #1.

So what are the requirements for these Specialty races hosted by Bald Farm Inc.? These races are conditional races for three-year-olds & up. Entries are based on earnings of the current season & NOT on lifetime earnings. Each race has 40,000 credits added to it. These Races give ALL members an equal opportunity to enter a horse or horses & also collect substantial coin.

Ten various conditional races are held. Should there not be sufficient entries for any particular race the race is cancelled. The races below were for S15. Whether any changes are scheduled for these races for end of current S16 was unknown at press time, but with 84 days remaining in S16 & being a ways off, time will tell

The Third hosted Specialty races will be kicking off for the First time in DigitalDowns history on Friday June 11/10 S16. Who is hosting these races? What type of Specialty Races are they? These races are founded by Woodville Stables & are being hosted by Craig of Woodville Stables from Dallas Texas. Woodville Stables became a Forum member on April 24/09 S12.

As of June 7/10 S16, Woodville Stables is in #1 position with 90 Wins, Trainers Top 10 - Current Meeting Standings - Races Won.  A stable that appears to be aiming towards the goal to receive the 100 dollar Award from DigitalDowns.us for stable with most WINS in a season. Getting Lucky Lodge is in second place with 87 Wins & Ryan Express is in third place with 84 Wins. With 84 days remaining in the season, it should prove to be interesting & competitive between these three stables & any other stables competing.

What is so special about these races which will be kicking off for the First time in DD history, S16? Possibly, a good question, one that many participating members may be curious of firstly offhand witnessing the outcome while others are & were glad to be participants. A series that may have an effect on participating players emotional wise to money wise to ego wise.

Will these races prove to be a continual seasonal Series? Is there any reason why they wouldn’t be? With the large amount of purse money being awarded & the class type of races implemented giving opportunity for even new players, history should prove that these races will be run for many seasons to come. On behalf of the DigitalDowns Tracksider Newspaper, Wishing ALL participants the Best!

» May Claims S16 Published 06/1/2010

TR – Do seasons have an effect at the race track for the claiming races? In the real life world it is spring at DigitalDowns headquarters whereas in other parts of the world it fall. Whether spring or fall for DigitalDowns game players it appears that one thing is in the air, “Claiming is in the Air”. Stats indicate that the month of May, the First month of season sixteen (S16) would be classed as a remarkable month in the claiming races. 40 various stables from around the world made claims during the month.

TOP claimer for the month of May is Luci O with a whopping 36 claims. It appears that the girls won in the claiming division hands down by out claiming the boys in the month of May. Female managed TOP ranked claiming stable Luci O can give any male managed stable a run for their money at the track.

Continuous TOP claiming stable at DigitalDowns is Aquaman Stable lossing out by 3 submitted claims for the lead. A stable devoting more of their game time to the claiming sector then the breeding sector. A stable of continuous game plays in the claiming sector at DigitalDowns and continually doing an elaborate job in the claiming sector.

Stable Tu Va a S1 member under a new stable name after a brief break from the game claimed a large group of horses for his renamed stable. Previous stable name for Tu Va was Dollar-in-mind-Partnership. Welcome back Paul, your temporary absence was missed, Great to see you back & wishing You success with your renamed Stable.

The 50k -100k claiming races generated a total of 450,000k for 8 claimed horses in the TOP 3 priced claiming races available. Lost Creek Stables was the BIG time investor for May claiming three horses for a total of 175k. A stable aiming for the future, that of TOP class competition at the track & in the breeding barn.

Wishing ALL May claimants the BEST with their horses! Is it possible that one or more of these horses claimed may be destined to becoming a future star for one or more of the month of May S16 claimants? The possibility of a future Star having been claimed in the month of May is… Ah…   “Time will tell”.

» One Million Dollar Plus Money Earner “Frontier-lass” for Owner Turf Downs S16 Published 05/31/2010

Frontier-lass M5
Ice Flame / Hannah Bear

TR – A one million dollar plus earning horse, does it feel good? You bet it does! An accomplishment that a stable owner of a horse earning one million plus has reason to be proud of.

Horses that have achieved the one million dollar plus pinnacle may have been bred by the current owner or claimed or bought through the auction by the current owner of the horse in the course of the horse's racing or breeding career.
What does a one million dollar plus money earning horse indicate? Would a one million dollar plus horse indicate a well bred horse? Wouldn’t there also be some sort of reason of why these horses have achieved the pinnacle of being in the TOP 10 Lifetime Standings - Most Money Won?

One million dollar plus money earning horses would be a good indication that the majority of the money earned would have been in races with high payouts, such as Allowance Races but the odds would be more in favor of leaning towards Specialty Races or Stakes Races.

Specialty Races & Stakes Race payouts would be the high pinnacle for race payouts which also require higher entry fees, an indication of a well bred horse capable of performing in these Top Class Races. The larger the entry fee, the larger the payout.

Million dollar plus earners would have been entered in races with above average for entries in the fields they raced, indicating a high collection of coin for horse & stable. Especially, for a Win which pays out 50% of total purse money. Second would pay out 25%, Third would pay out 20% & Fourth would pay out 5%.

Overall, a horse capable of performing & collecting payouts in Allowance Races, Specialty Races or Stakes Races would be a horse that one can classify as well bred for the track. A Higher racing class should be a clear indication of a better pedigree. As for the stable doing any breeding at their racing domain, many already know that the chances of getting a quality foal can be a fifty fifty ordeal, 100% success or 100% failure. 100% success? 100% failure?

Is there 100% success or 100% failure? 100% success or 100% failure for a group of horses is probably impossible, for an individual horse it is very possible depending on the breeder’s expectations for the foal.

What would one class as failure? A horse incapable of competing in Allowance Races, Specialty Races or Stakes Races? A horse incapable of competing in high end claimers or conditional races? A horse incapable of competing in low end claimers or conditional races? A horse incapable of competing in any races?

No matter how one looks at it, just because one has bred a horse that isn’t capable of competing in high class races, it does not signify it as a 100% failure indicating a total loss. Is there ever a total loss? A total loss is when a horse is incapable of being able to earn a single dollar in any low end claiming race resulting in Only ALL expense for ALL entries, basically a dud, now that is a total loss.

Breeding requires a specific requisite when it comes to matching a stallion & mare. The requisite is SBP. SBP? That of injecting Selective Breeding Practices into a stable’s breeding program! SBP by a stable can go either way but, far outweighs random breeding (no specific aim in mind/such as low quality horses). In simple terms, random breeding is shooting from the hip & hoping for a hit which generates minimal success.

Random breeding is a practice that will near guarantee & will maximize results of an unsuccessful foal being reared in Top class company as a racer & even as a breeder. A very high percentage of these types of bred horses have resulted of being in low calibre races to no races to being prime bred horses Labeled "Permanent Delete". An individual’s choice, but when it comes to real money, isn’t it more appropriate to spend it in a way that will benefit the breeder resulting in more bang for their buck?

So… back to the one million dollar horse that recently earned a ranking in the Top Ten Lifetime Standings - Most Money Won.

Frontier-lass M5
(Ice Flame / Hannah Bear) Bred by Sparc Stables & bought in the auction by Ryan Express & claimed for 10,000k in her first lifetime start out of the gate from Ryan Express by current owner, Turf Downs.

Possibly, a heart breaker for both previous owners, Sparc Stables & Ryan Express but one can be assured that the two respected sportsmen continue to cheer current owner of Frontier-lass. One never knows when it can be a win lose scenario for any player playing the simulated horse racing game. Turf Downs would definitely be the winner here, and a BIG time Winner none the least, money wise & ego wise!

Colin of Turf Downs has every reason to be proud of his accomplishment of skillfully earning a position with his 10,000k claimed horse in the TOP 10 Lifetimes Standings - Most Money Won. Turf Downs skillfully & single handedly made appropriate or near appropriate selections for his One Million Dollar plus earning horse. Key selections by Turf Downs for an extremely well bred horse that helped achieve the goal of making Frontier-lass an Elite racer at the track.

Frontier-lass is the Only horse to surpass & set any new track records in S15.
