The Preview Eliminator Futurity Races
I am sure we all know Eliminator (eliminate) means, (to remove from further consideration or competition) Sooo.... what does futurity mean? We know it is some sort of horse race, but, what type of horse race? Futurity... (Horse Racing. a race, usually for two-year-olds, in which the entrants are selected long before the race is run, sometimes before the birth of the foal - As defined in Webster's Unabridged Dictionary).
So, how did this race come about, or should one say, how did a race as such come into existence? As we have already heard of the word sponsorship, "TPEFR" is another sponsored race. Sponsored by Falcon Oaks, contributing 125,000K per division & DD contributing 110,000K per division. A purse of 775,000K for each division, IF.... the maximum of 60 horses are entered for each division of colts & fillies. Dang.... that's a lot of mula & a lot of horses.
Entry fees per horse entered stand at 10,000K, with stables being able to enter a maximum of 3 horses in the colt division & a maximum of 3 horses in the filly division. Therefore, for 60,000K it is possible to enter 6 horses, providing one has that type of cash, or, enough horses kicking around the paddock. As the famous saying go's, "It is always easier said, then done".
With Entries closing Dec 30/07 Season 8, it does not leave much time for members before the entry deadline. Stipulation is that all races will be run with 120 Ib. weights, & no apprentice allowances will be permitted.
There will be 3 rounds for the colt & filly races & should prove to make history once again at DD. One can be confident, that excitement prior, during & after these races will possibly have a long time term effect among many stable members. One can rest assured that the conclusion of "TPEFR" will be talked about for a long time after by stable members.
