  • Knoxville Returns

    For the Aussies:

My real horse Knoxville is in the 6th race at Morphettville (Adelaide) today. Should be a good each-way bet at 20/1. He is a front-running miler and is down 3kg (7lbs). Has taken a while to get fit after an injury but is expected to run well today.

    Happy Australia Day!

        He shoots.... he scores!

Ended up paying 12/1 but a win is a win.

Hope you both had a little something on him.

Video of his City win. You'll notice he has this bad habit of wanting to lead and fighting the jockey who was trying to restrain him. If he would settle in his races, God knows how good he could be. This race was equivalent of a 20K Claimer in DD terms.

No it was the main track in Adelaide about 1000 miles south of here. Shane is a part time trainer as well as the local racecaller. His horse Spinning Apple won here on Sunday, paying $9.70 for a dollar. Had an each-way bet on it, so the betting account is quite flush at the moment

Knoxville in the last race in Adelaide today. Nigel said he is fit and should run well. Unfortunately drawn 14 of 14 so might be caught out on a limb as there is some speed on his inside. Got a good jock aboard who has ridden him before and seems to know how to settle him in races. Should start around 16/1 so might be a good value place chance with Mega Queen the hardest to beat.

Got to the lead from the outside gate and kept off the fence but battled on ok to run 4th, 2.5len. from the winner. $1,000 paycheck will keep him fed for a few more weeks.

he was another good effort, Troy (jockey) said he went very well. He thought he might end up with a sit just off leader, but they took hold and slowed, and he was left in front. Battled on really well to be beaten only 2.5l and is holding his form nicely now.
